06 The Angoche Mystery now included in main Portuguese libraries

» Library of the PRESIDENCY of the PORTUGUESE REPUBLIC:

The documentary fund of the Library of the Presidency of the Republic covers several thematic areas, namely Politics, International Relations, Law, National and International Economy and Social Issues.

The Library has more than 18,000 monographs, around 200 titles of periodical publications, collections of interventions by the current and previous Presidents of the Republic, electronic resources, etc., searchable in the respective Catalog.

The Library of the Presidency of the Republic also provides the database “Interventions of the Presidents of the Republic” created with the aim of gathering and providing access to the interventions of the Heads of State since the establishment of the Republic.

This database, developed and continually updated within the scope of the activity of the Documentation and Archive Services Directorate of the Presidency of the Republic, references and provides access to the full text of around 5000 interventions, namely speeches, statements, communications, messages and interviews.

Currently covering, in an exhaustive manner, the period after the 25th of April, this repository thus brings together the interventions of Presidents António de Spínola, Francisco Costa Gomes, António Ramalho Eanes, Mário Soares, Jorge Sampaio and Aníbal Cavaco Silva, as well as those that President Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa has spoken so far. On the other hand, it already includes more than half a thousand interventions by eight Heads of State from the 1st Republic and the Estado Novo.

  PUBLIC SESSION ON THE MYSTERY OF THE ANGOCHE SHIP In April at a FNAC bookstore in Lisbon an event covering The Angoche Mystery: Debate and interventions session to be held on April the 25th at a FNAC bookstore to be announced, in Lisbon area, accordingly to the book publishing house, Edições Vieira da Silva. Waiting now for the location to be confirmed - FNAC Vasco da Gama or FNAC C.C. Alegro - Alfragide. And the time of the event. We will discuss what has been said and discovered so far, and the national and international political and strategic scenario in which the case unfolded - with connections to the AGINTER-PRESS and GLADIO networks.
